My amazing mother, Debi, affectionately known as “G-Mom”, was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma - stage 4 skin cancer.

While this news was incredibly difficult to hear, we are choosing to face it with hope and strength. G-Mom has always been the heart of our family and now, it’s our turn to be there for her. She’s beginning a tough journey filled with treatments, appointments, and many unknowns. But if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that G-Mom is a fighter and she’s not facing this alone.

By raising funds for this cause, we’re standing with G-Mom and so many others facing skin cancer. Every dollar helps advance research, improve treatment options, and provide support for families just like ours. Every donation, share, and kind word makes a difference. ​On Saturday, August 23, the Philadelphia Miles for Melanoma 5K event will take place at the Philadelphia Zoo with the site opening at 7:00 AM ET for check-in. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 8:00 AM ET. The 5K will begin at 8:30 AM ET with our Closing ceremonies to follow after all runners have returned starting at 9:30 AM ET.

Attendees will check in for the event and enter the Zoo through the Main Entrance at the North Gate. The closest parking lots are the Tiger Parking Lot and the Philadelphia Zoo Parking Garage.
