Thanks for having my back, Melahomies!
Lets Wash Away Melanoma
This walk is so much more than a 5K to me. It represents hope, strength, resilience, and the people I love most. Melanoma changed my life the day I was diagnosed, but it didn’t stop there. This disease has deeply impacted my family as well.
My father is a melanoma warrior just like me. My aunt also fought this disease with everything she had, but sadly, melanoma took her far too soon.
Because of them, and because of my own journey, this cause is deeply personal. I know the fear that comes with hearing the words, “You have melanoma.” I know the uncertainty, the endless appointments, the waiting, the treatments, and the emotional toll this disease takes—not only on the person diagnosed, but on everyone who loves them.
Every year, I walk for those we have lost too soon. I walk for those who are newly diagnosed and scared of what comes next. I walk for the survivors who continue to fight every day, for the caregivers who never leave their loved one’s side, and for every melanoma warrior who refuses to give up. No one should have to face this journey alone.
If you’ve ever wondered how you could make a difference, this is your chance. I would be incredibly grateful if you would join me on August 30th or consider making a donation to support melanoma research, education, and patient resources. Every step we take together honors a life, gives hope to someone still fighting, and brings us one step closer to a future where fewer families have to experience this heartbreak.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing beside me, my family, and every person whose life has been touched by melanoma. Whether you walk, donate, or simply share this message, you are making a difference. Together, we can honor those we’ve lost, support those still fighting, and help create a future where no one has to hear the words, “You have melanoma.”
