Charlie's Angels
About a year ago, one of my dearest friends, Charlie Whiting, passed away after a long battle with stage 4 melanoma. Even though he had been fighting for more than five years, losing him still felt sudden and heartbreaking.
It’s hard to find gratitude in losing him, but I am grateful for the five extra years we did get — years where he was still able to travel, make memories, and enjoy life. Those years were made possible by continued advances in medicine and melanoma research. We should have had significantly more time with him, and that’s why I’ll continue supporting efforts that help other families and friends get more moments together, because there is still so much he should be here for.
Once again this year, I’ll be participating in Miles for Melanoma and raising funds in his honor. I would truly appreciate your support by joining my team, Charlie’s Angels, for the walk on June 13th at Sloan’s Lake in Denver, participating virtually, donating, or simply sharing this post.
Join Team Charlie’s Angels In loving memory of our dear friend Charlie Whiting, we are proud to call ourselves Charlie's Angels. Charlie bravely faced stage four melanoma, and although we lost him a little over a year about - last April, his strength, kindness, and spirit continue to inspire us every day. This team is our way of honoring his memory, celebrating his life, and carrying forward the courage and love he showed to everyone who knew him.
Melanoma is the deadliest and fastest growing form of skin cancer and we all want a cure to be found soon. Miles for Melanoma is the way people come together to take action and help support this fight and the mission of the Melanoma Research Foundation.
Every step, donation, and share helps support research, awareness, and hope for better outcomes in the future.
In recent years, significant progress has been made—better detection methods, new treatments, and improved survival rates. These advancements are the result of dedicated research and breakthroughs across many areas of cancer treatment. Thanks to this progress, Charlie was able to spend five more beautiful years living fully and joyfully, even getting engaged to a wonderful woman.
Help us continue this momentum. Step up—donate to or join Team Charlie’s Angels today. Let’s keep moving forward, together.
