The cure for melanoma begins with ALL of US! 

Every single day for a little over 2 years, my late husband, Jeffrey Kurzawa, was the epitome of positivity, hope, laughter, courage, admiration.  He literally was our Beast man! There was nothing stopping him from trying anything and everything to get this nasty beast out of his body called Melanoma. Everyday he woke up with a smile and had a “let’s do this attitude!” He tried every single available FDA treatment for his Melanoma type, he did at least 4 clinical trials that I remember taking us to Pittsburgh and also Cincinnati as well at the Cleveland Clinic. Jeff also under went radiation and Gamma-knife separately. He also had surgery on his spine. Jeff did all of this plus more all while taking multiple medications to counter act symptoms from the treatments while he also got diagnosed with steroid induced hepatitis and he also went through an episode of blood clot in the lungs which I’m blanking on the name right now and also he became a diabetic from the treatments and had hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism- never could tell which because his levels never made sense just like his diabetes because of his melanoma levels. It was a mess to say the least. But guess what what? Jeff was still a frickin BEAST MAN! He was in complete Beast Mode constantly and that’s why I gave him this tiltle and support title.  I knew he wouldn’t quit or give up. He worked two jobs, his full time one as a Full time Rural Postal Carrier for the Inited States Postal Service in Novelty, Ohio and part time helping his friend with his custodial business in the evenings. Jeff also was his son’s assistant AAU basketball coach.  He also never missed a football or basketball game at high school where his son played or a volleyball game that his daughter played on or anything that his kids were involved in if he could help it. That was what was most important to him was being there for his kids and that’s what he truly enjoyed and meant the most to him was being with his immediate family. Jeff was the epitome of an amazing, awesome, loving, devoted Dad and Husband. 
He was taken from us way too soon at age 46. 
Melanoma does not discriminate against age, race, gender. Please do your part and stay sun safe, but also spread the word that it doesn’t just come from the sun either. Melanoma has been linked to any type of radiation exposures, genetics, it can form where the sun don’t shine, inside the body, babies can be born with it even.
