Welcome to Team Dr. Bryce Roots
Bryce lived a life dedicated to helping others. As a physician, she was passionate about research, compassionate patient care, and dreamed of becoming a pediatric surgeon. She approached everything she did with determination, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference.
After being diagnosed with melanoma, Bryce continued her surgery residency before transitioning into research to strengthen her fellowship application. To say she believed in the importance of research would be an understatement. She understood that every discovery had the potential to change—and save—lives.
Bryce also participated in a Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) Therapy clinical trial. While the treatment was initially successful, it ultimately could not stop her cancer. Today, TIL Therapy has been FDA-approved for advanced melanoma—a reminder that every breakthrough is built on the courage of patients like Bryce, who participate in research and help pave the way for future treatments.
Melanoma is the deadliest and one of the fastest-growing forms of skin cancer, but together we can help change that. Every donation to the Melanoma Research Foundation supports lifesaving research, new treatments, and hope for future patients and families.
Thank you for helping us honor Bryce's legacy. She was an extraordinary daughter, sister, friend, and physician whose compassion, resilience, and impact continue to inspire us every day. We are grateful to have you standing with us as we continue this fight in her memory.
