Mass General Brigham Melanoma Mavericks
At Mass General Brigham, we see melanoma up close- in our clinics, in our labs, and in the faces of the patients who trust us with their lives. We know the fear in a patient's eyes when they hear the diagnosis. We know the long road of treatment, the uncertainty, and the hope that drives every breakthrough we work toward.
That's exactly why we run.
The Melanoma Research Foundation shares our mission at its core: to fund the science that saves lives. Every dollar raised through this 5K goes directly toward the research that turns "incurable" into "survivable." This is the kind of research that MGB physicians and scientists pour their hearts into every single day.
We are not just healthcare workers crossing a finish line. We are advocates, caregivers, colleagues of survivors, and teammates of patients. Some of us have lost loved ones to melanoma. Some of us have watched patients defy the odds because of a clinical trial or a new therapy that wouldn't exist without research funding.
When we lace up our sneakers, we carry every one of those stories with us.
The MGB Melanoma Mavericks run because we believe in a future where no family has to hear the words "nothing more we can do." We run because the work doesn't end at the hospital. We run because it extends to the community, to the conversation, to the commitment to keep pushing forward.
We run for our patients. We run for the cure. We run together.
