Help Me Fundraise for the Melanoma Research Foundation!
In early August this year I went to the doctor because of what I thought was a detached retina only to get the horrible news that I have Ocular Melanoma. OM is a rare cancer that impacts 5 in a million. I've been fortunate to live in one of the few cities in the US that treats this extremely rare and deadly cancer and have undergone plaque radiation therapy at Emory University. Despite everything appearing normal on the outside, we do not know yet if the treatment was successful and we are very much still concerned about what the future can hold. Even with successful treatment, the size of my tumor leaves me at risk for the cancer to spread. We are doing our best to stay positive and I am grateful to my family and friends who have been supportive and all in on Team Adam ever since we got the news.
Many people have asked me how they can help. I generally don't have a great answer to that question, so I was excited to find this opportunity to fundraise for melanoma research as there isn't nearly as much funding put towards Melanoma as there is towards other more common cancers. I'll be running in the 2025 Atlanta Miles for Melanoma 5k on November 2nd - feel free to join me by registering at the top of this website as an individual.
I am thankful to everyone that has helped me get through the past few months and would appreciate anyone who donates, runs with me, or cheers me on.
Go Falcons!
