On April 30, my 43rd birthday, I received a diagnosis I never expected - Stage 2 melanoma. But instead of letting fear take the lead, I chose to rise. With God's strength, my husband by my side, and four incredible daughters, I'm walking this path with purpose and grit. 

 I never expected to be looking cancer in the face, especially on the heels of battling alopecia as of February this year, an autoimmune disease that has already challenged my body in so many ways. 

On May 13th, I will undergo surgery to remove the cancer, and while the road ahead is uncertain, I know that with God's grace, the support of my loved ones, and the strength of this community, we are capable of making a difference. Advocating for myself and my family has always been a deep passion of mine — not just to fight, but to truly understand what we're facing.

I'm walking for those who can't, for my girls who inspire me every day, and for all the brave warriors who are fighting their own battles with melanoma. I'm also walking to raise awareness, to remind others of the importance of early detection, and to show that, despite everything, we rise stronger together.
