It's Personal

Melanoma is the deadliest and fastest growing form of skin cancer and we all want a cure to be found soon. 5 Years ago we lost my sister Jackie to melanoma that she thought she had beat.  It was a shock and a dark time for everyone in the family. We are not alone or unique. Melanoma has touched many many families. We need to find more effective treatments, prevention and improve survival rates.  

Chris and Melissa formed this team to honor Jackie's memory and raise money to advance the cause. I thought I was too old to run...but in the last 12 months I watched my son, Ben, run two marathons. I figured I can get off my butt and run a 5k.  So I'm joining Jackie's Tribe in 2023 to help raise money for Miles for Melanoma. 

Every step matters and every step counts. Significant advancement has been made in the past few years in improved detection, new drug treatments and better survival rates. This progress has been built on the breakthroughs made fighting other types of cancers, as well as the existing foundation of melanoma research.

There is more to be done and a long way to go, but the finish line is in sight. The energy, enthusiasm and encouragement from patients, survivors, families, friends, caregivers, and the medical community impacts many lives and many future.
