2025 Denver Miles for Melanoma

Melanoma Manda

In 2022, I received a Stage 3 Invasive Melanoma diagnosis. After undergoing 7 rounds of immunotherapy over 5 months, we were hopeful we had beaten it. However, during a routine CT scan in February 2025, we discovered the cancer had metastasized to my lung and spread to my brain, resulting in 1 lung tumor and 4 brain tumors. I've since undergone brain radiation and am currently undergoing a more aggressive round of immunotherapy to combat the lung cancer.

Melanoma is the deadliest and fastest-growing form of skin cancer, and we all want a cure to be found soon. Invasive melanoma accounts for 1% of all skin cancer cases. It’s the least common but deadliest skin cancer making early detection KEY. Miles for Melanoma is the way people come together to take action and help support this fight and the mission of the Melanoma Research Foundation.

Every step matters, and every step counts. Significant advancements have been made in the past few years in improved detection, new drug treatments, and better survival rates. This progress has been built on the breakthroughs made in fighting other types of cancers, as well as the existing foundation of melanoma research.

There is more to be done and a long way to go, but the finish line is in sight. The energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement from patients, survivors, families, friends, caregivers, and the medical community impacts many lives and many future.

Please consider donating to or joining my team today. Together, we can continue to push towards better treatments and, ultimately, find a cure.
