Matt was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma on January 19th. Life has been scary, uncertain, and unpredictable but the love and support of family and friends has been the most constant source of comfort and joy. In an effort to celebrate Matt while creating
awareness for this cancer and the value of medical research, many friends and family are planning to run the Miles for Melanoma 5K as part of the Miles for Matt team!

Melanoma is the deadliest and fastest growing form of skin cancer and we all want a cure to be found soon. Miles for Melanoma is the way people come together to take action and help support this fight and the mission of the Melanoma Research Foundation.

Every step matters and every step counts. Significant advancement has been made in the past few years in improved detection, new drug treatments and better survival rates. This progress has been built on the breakthroughs made fighting other types of cancers, as well as the existing foundation of melanoma research. Recent cuts to federal budgets and loss of funding to medical research puts the advancement of cancer treatment and the lives of melanoma patients at serious risk, including Matt's.
