Please support my fundraising efforts for the Melanoma Research Foundation!
In 2018, the scariest thing happened—my dad, Art Brown, was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. It was a devastating moment that changed everything. He was our biggest cheerleader, always showing up with a smile, a joke, and a warmth that made everyone feel like family.
Art’s love for baseball was unmatched. Whether he was umpiring, watching a game, or reminiscing about legendary plays, the sport was woven into the fabric of who he was. But if there was anything that came close to his love for baseball, it was his deep pride in his Irish heritage. He carried it with him in everything he did—a symbol of resilience, community, and strength.
Losing him was unimaginable. No one should have to go through the heartbreak of saying goodbye too soon. That’s why Artie’s Army is walking Miles for Melanoma—so that families don’t have to experience the same pain. We walk in his memory, in his honor, and in the hope that one day, no one will have to lose their dad the way I did.
Art Brown’s fight may have ended, but his legacy continues. And with every step we take, we carry his spirit with us, pushing forward for a future without melanoma.
