Bob Darwin
I want to take a moment to honor Bob Darwin, my friend’s father, who tragically passed away 3 years ago from melanoma. Their journey was incredibly difficult, filled with heartache and numerous challenges. The lack of awareness and training among doctors in identifying this disease sooner rather than later is unacceptable; it should never have been caught at stage 4, especially given the importance of regular checkups. The initial misdiagnosis and delay in his findings significantly delayed his treatment, which was a major setback.
It’s disheartening to see that melanoma does not receive the same level of research and funding as other cancers, like breast cancer. While cancer, in general, is devastating, melanoma resonates deeply with me due to the profound impact it had on my dear friends who lost their father and now a connection within our family as well.
Bob was an exceptional man and a wonderful father who would have made a fantastic grandfather, taken from us far too soon!
To Bob: You are loved and missed every day! This experience is one I wish on no one. I am committed to helping raise funds for ongoing research into melanoma, and I hope to make a difference in the fight against this disease. Thank you for your support!
